With the firm commitment to strengthening technical skills and response capacity in the field to address public health challenges, the Supervised Practice Coordination—under the leadership of Josseline Andrade, M.Sc., at the Faculty of Life Sciences (FLS)—in strategic coordination with the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), conducted the Training and Certification Ceremony for Tutors in Community Epidemiological Surveillance. This academic session was aimed at Nutrition students who formally began their Rotating Internship for the 2026–2027 cohort, focusing as a priority on addressing and preventing Child Chronic Malnutrition (CCM / DCI).
The training process took place in two intensive phases during April 2026. The first group received training on Monday, April 6, and Tuesday, April 7, while the second group attended on Monday, April 13, and Tuesday, April 14, completing technical sessions that equipped future professionals with essential methodological tools for epidemiological monitoring in vulnerable communities.
To conclude this joint effort, on Wednesday, May 27, an emotional certificate presentation ceremony was held, where interns were officially accredited to act as agents of change and overseers of child nutritional health, reaffirming ESPOL's role in generating social impact with scientific relevance.
