With the objective of strengthening local capacities and ensuring active community participation, the Faculty of Life Sciences (FLS), under the coordination of Dr. Marynes Montiel, conducted an initial training session for promoters from communities located within the Bulubulu River basin. This technical workshop represents the preparatory phase for the upcoming nutritional and health assessment to be executed by the institution.

The training session was led by MSc. Génesis Vásquez, a research technician from ESPOL's Nutrition area, who provided participants with essential methodological tools for the correct collection of biological and nutritional indicators in the field. The meeting saw active participation from eight community representatives, who will act as facilitators and overseers of the process in their respective localities.

The activity also received strategic support from Jeremy Miranda, a technician from the Maquita Foundation, an allied organization that provided logistical and methodological backing during this community organization session. With this effort, the FLS reaffirms its commitment to putting science and research at the service of social well-being and the sustainable development of the country's most vulnerable populations.
