On May 6, the Faculty of Life Sciences (FLS) at ESPOL welcomed 122 new students from the Biology, Agricultural and Biological Engineering, and Nutrition and Dietetics programs. The welcome session was designed to integrate them into university life and familiarize them with the faculty's academic spaces.
The activity began outside the Rectorate building, where the Rector of ESPOL delivered a welcome message to the incoming freshmen. This year, the institution received a total of 1,663 new students distributed across the university's eight faculties.
Subsequently, the new members of the FLS visited the faculty facilities, where they were greeted by authorities and program coordinators. During the day, they took a guided tour of various buildings and laboratories, accompanied by members of the faculty's student association.
In each laboratory, technicians provided a brief induction on the activities, research, and services conducted in these spaces, allowing students to get a first-hand look at the practical and scientific areas that will be part of their academic training.
The day concluded at the coliseum located behind Student Welfare, where students participated in activities organized by university clubs and organizations. Among the stands present were the Synbio and Nutrispace clubs, the FLS Student Association, and the Prosperina Protector Forest and Vegetation.
The FLS welcomed this new generation of students, noting that the number of admissions exceeded those of previous semesters and reaffirming its commitment to providing a well-rounded academic and human education that allows them to make the most of their university experience.
