From October 12 to 16, 2026, the Center for Research on Health in Latin America (CISEAL) facilities in Quito hosted the International Workshop on Transcriptomics for Biomedical Research. On Saturday, September 19, 2026, Ecuador's capital hosted Software Freedom Day Quito 2026, an event organized by the Openlab Foundation to discuss and promote the role of open technologies and free software in scientific and societal progress.

Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral hosted its traditional Open House 2026, an institutional outreach event designed to provide career guidance to thousands of prospective high school graduates. Within this framework, the Faculty of Life Sciences (FLS) stood out with an interactive, hands-on experience, bridging foundational science, agricultural engineering, and public health for future polytechnic students.

Within the framework of the international DEPUREMOS project—an initiative spearheaded by ESPOL and Ghent University (UGent) in collaboration with UTMACH, UTM, and UNESUM, funded by the Belgian development cooperation agency VLIR-UOS—the technical team held a strategic working session with artisanal fisheries representatives on Puná Island.

On September 1, 2026, the Faculty of Life Sciences (FLS) hosted a productive academic session featuring Eveligh Prado Carpio, Ph.D., professor and researcher from the Technical University of Machala (UTMACH), within the framework of the international DEPUREMOS project, funded by Belgian cooperation agency VLIR-UOS.
